(One Hour Show and 15 Minutes Q&A)
I DIDN’T CRY is a one-woman theatrical work based on a true story that explores grief, domestic violence, and generational trauma through the eyes of Shaila, a young girl coping with the untimely death of her older sister, Santa. At just fifteen, Santa’s search for love leads to teenage pregnancy, school abandonment, substance abuse, and an abusive relationship that ultimately results in an AIDS-related death. As Shaila processes loss and silence, their mother, Soledad, struggles to protect her family while confronting her own limitations and fears. Through intimate storytelling and embodied performance, I DIDN’T CRY creates space for reflection, dialogue, and healing—particularly for communities impacted by violence, loss, and systemic inequities—using theatre as a catalyst for empathy, awareness, and social change. NOTE: A COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM PLAN FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL AND TITLE ONE COMMUNITIES.

Sergia Starr, Founder of Write 2 Live, LLC, has over 25 years of experience in arts education. She is a multifaceted creative—writer, producer, film and theater director, actress, speaker, and arts educator—committed to using storytelling and self-expression as tools for healing, growth, and empowerment.

I’m a spiritual, dramatic writer drawn to sci-fi and stories of transformation. My memoir, I Didn’t Cry Stories: Dreaming Big in Harlem, expands on my solo show and answers audience questions. Available on Amazon.

I’ve written and directed plays for myself and others, and I truly love the creative process. I also work exceptionally well with children. Have a project? Feel free to reach out via email below.

I’ve produced my solo show in regional theaters across New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. Harlem Jezebel is my second short film as a writer, director, and producer. I’ve also written and directed The Testimony Christmas Show and several stage adaptations of Bible stories.

My solo show, I Didn’t Cry, is inspired by the life of my older sister, Santa. As the narrator, I share my journey of navigating her struggles and untimely passing. This book extends that story, offering readers a path to healing, reflection, and transformation, while exploring themes of grief, peer pressure, empathy, and personal growth.
Sergia is amazing! A natural. She is gentle but firm and consistent. A judgment-free zone. She helps you to discover your strengths and comes from a wealth of knowledge in the Self Help space. She is a friend and soul mate. Highly recommend her! :)
I love Sergia. I know that I can always count on her to be there for me. She continues to be a pillar of support after 15+ years. Her life experience combined with her communication skills is a perfect blend for an effective coach. My life has been enriched by her insight, support and guidance. Much love and gratitude.
Hooray, Kudos and Thank You to Sergia for her commitment to me being the very best I can be for this world. She is really a teacher at heart, a great listener, and a resource guru. Do not call her if you aren't serious about seeing your Dreams Come True in your personal, professional, and spiritual life. I went from a woman afraid of sharing my personal story to someone confident, proud, and inaction for mature women who've taken on the second chapter of their lives with zeal and zest. What I like most about Sergia is her consistency and a real commitment to seeing you achieve your goals. Each session builds upon the other, so you can document your achievements and accomplishments over time. I've gone from zero to She-ro in a very short time.
Good Afternoon All! I had a spectacular weekend and I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine! One of my many highlights was completing an intensive solo performance writing course offered by my dear friend and fellow entrepreneur Sergia Starr! Writing about oneself and trauma is difficult while writing. But when it is all complete, it is so cathartic! Thank you Sergia and Write2Live!
